2 more layouts to share with ya

I just created a couple more layouts today to share with you. Hope you enjoy them.

First one is of my wonderful Cocker Spaniel Misty Blue. I loved this Blue paper from Sugar Plum Paperie at SSD. Isn't it absolutely gorgeous? I created the layout just to use that paper. LOL

The next layout I created with a freebie from Libby Pritchett also at SSD. I love the greens and browns that make the mini kit so Masculine. Like my pocket I created from a paper and a journal card? I recolored the card, added a brad, and a ribbon along with the title of "Top Ten". Then I did some actual journaling on it and tucked it under the pocket which is just a square of the polka dot BG paper you see in the very back of the layout and then I used some stitches to make it look like it is sewn into a pocket. I am pretty proud of it. LOL The photo's are random photo's of my son Wyatt.

Play that Funky Music!

I am having such a great time with my newest kit from SAS designs. The music theme is fun and I really think it lends to the ability to really go out on a limb and get funky with it. I have been wanting to try a new technique I saw one time online and decided this was the perfect kit to do that with. I <3 how the look of the silhouette turned out with my photo and the random word generator i used.

I really think it gave the layout a rock star funky feel and I love the purple with all the bright colors in the dots of the BG paper. I woudl have been happier if it would have a slight bit more detail to the image but I will work on that as I get better at this technique. I am sure i will eventually find a way ya know.
You can grab Sarah's kit at either one of these links, HERE or HERE. You will not be disappointed.

New Ct and my first layout for the team

I know you will all say I am glutton for punishment by taking on something else in my life right now but I applied to and was chosen to join the CT of SAS Designs. I really like her designs and since I am making layouts anyway in my little free time I decided that her CT team would be a wonderful addition to my busy schedule.
I really like her kits because they seem to work so well with the simplistic layout style I have begun to gravitate towards more and more. Yet if I really wanted something more grand and magnificent I could easily accomplish that as well.
This layout is created using SAS's brand new kit being released tomorrow called "Rock The Beat". It will be available at Bits2Kits and ACOT 05/25/12. It was perfect for this layout I have been considering about "me". No there is no photo of me, but it shows some of the eclectic music I have on my I-pod right now. I tend to listen to music based on my mood. If I wan to really just relax I will listen to Andrea Bocelli, if I want something upbeat and happy I will pop in my 80's music or Wham. If I want something that will get me up off my feet I will pop in some Jazzy number, and if I want to sing and just be happy I will pop in some Rat Pack to put me in a great mood. I mean come on who doesn't get in a good mood listening to Dean Martin?
Anyway, I started out with an entirely different idea for this page and ended up with something I like better then what I had in mind actually. (Imagine that huh?)

Isn't it great? I <3 the album covers I found for all the groups I listen too and I really love the stitching included in the kit. I don't know what it is about good stitching that I cannot get enough of. Everything you see here (Except the alpha which is Connie Prince and the small little heart which I created) is from the kit by SAS Designs.

A new beach layout.

I hope everyone is having a great spring. Spring doesn't last long here in Bakersfield so we take advantage of it while we can and spend some time outdoors. I have been working a lot but am finally getting into a routine that allows me a little time to myself. Yes, I am one of those people that needs, no requires, me time to remain sane. Without it I turn into something indescribable and not a lot of fun. I admit I enjoy my alone time and relish those times when I am simply "alone". No one asking me questions, no one wanting anything, no one telling me anything, just simply no one. LOL Is that bad?? Well, the good thing about alone time is I can use that time to create! We all know how much I <3 to create and I am much more creative when I am relaxed.
Tonight after somewhat watching the solar eclipse I sat down and created this layout with a freebie from Sas Designs.

I enjoyed the very beachy items she included in the kit and I really liked the papers. Isn't that rosette to die for? Orange is one of my new favorite colors. I decided to highlight the key words in the journaling. Well, at least the words that are key to me. I also added a title by using word-art by Shawna Klingerman at SSD and I added sand by Cafe J at After 5 Designs. The final thing I added was a background by Misty Cato also at SSD to make my text pop a little more off the patterned paper. Everything else including the blue paper is Sas's work. (I recolored the orange paper to blue to add a lightly more boyish charm.) Isn't that surf board adorable as well? Doesn't it make you want to grab a Popsicle and hit the waves. Well, sorta does because since I can't swim I am not so sure surfing would be a good choice for me. So it makes me want to grab a towel and a Popsicle and hit the sand.
So, what R U doing with your spring?

I won!!! I'm so excited

I have been watching the FB pages and signing up for little giveaways on the blogs and pages of some of my favorite designers. Usually there are so many people that sign up I figure I don't actually stand a chance but its fun to do. This morning while sitting at my computer my friend Lyvian tagged my name in a blog post on SusDesigns FB page. She had seen that I had been chosen the winner of her new Grab Bag kit for iNSD and tagged me to make sure I saw it. I am so excited. Here is the photo of the kit I actually won.

I was so excited I right away opened up my PSCS and went to work on a great layout so i could share it with Sus and thank her for her wonderful talent and thoughtfulness in giving me this amazing kit. By the way you can grab it at either of her stores she sells at. Check her FB page here to get to her stores.

Well here is the layout I whipped up real quick to post and share.

I used an overlay by Sue Cummings but the rest of the items are from Sus's gorgeous kit. So excited I entered my name in the contestants!!!!

August 16th: The Day of High Voltage

So I have been spending some time reading a book I have called "The Secret Language of Birthday's". I got it years ago at Costco when I first moved out with my best friend Amy and we were looking for fun stuff to place on the coffee table. I have always found it to be relatively close to the actual personalities I see in myself and my loved ones and every now and then I like to go back and remind myself of the qualities and especially the areas of growth I have. I know that each time I have done this I have thought about scrapping my actual reading but have never actually taken the time to start and finish a layout, until now. I had a very specific idea in mind for this layout and I knew I wanted it to be very astral. I wanted to include planets and stars and the zodiac hidden amongst those stars. The trouble was that I was sure how to accomplish this best.  I finally decided to sit down and finish a layout utilizing the information provided to me in my book. I am actually very proud of the results and it also forced me to complete my first two page layout as well.

Below is the layout: (Click to view larger)

And here it is all separated for easier perusing and reading.

I am really really happy with how the layout turned out. I cannot take credit for the images and such as they are various items I found spread across the internet, therefore I of course could never attempt to publish it or any such thing it is simply for my own enjoyment. I found the images and extracted them all myself and used images I found online to create the multiple layers of backgrounds etc. I could not be happier.

A New Layout and a FREEBIE QP for you

Well, tomorrow I am working the 7pm-7:30am shift at the NICU so I am attempting to stay up really late tonight so I can sleep in tomorrow so I won't be quite so burned out by 7:30 in the morning on Sunday. I figured that since I tend to get lost in the creative process of designing layouts that it would be a good way to keep me busy and focused on something besides sleep, so I created this layout of my son after I saw a layout at SSD that I just loved in the weekly ad. Now I attempted to locate the layout in the actual gallery there and no matter what I did I could not locate it to share it here with you. But I am telling you that this is a sort of scraplift of a layout I saw and liked. Unfortunately the preview in the ad was very small so I could not make out all the details so I did not have the layout open in front of me while I worked on it. In other words I just knew I wanted to use the perspective that was used in the original layout and I did that in my own way. So there you go a sort of scraplift. If I could have found the actual layout I would have actually scraplifted it because it was really neato beneato. Well I suppose you would like to see my take on it now instead of my rambling so here it is:

So the layout I saw in the Ad had the image turned in this way and clusters around it and I just loved it so I attempted to create mine int he same basic style. I am happy with how it turned out. One of the girls in my Photoshop Group I am in (Lyvian) did a layout in this style recently too and I think that is what originally drew my eye to the ad layout I saw. I found the perspective interesting.

Now I bet you would like to know what I have for you today wouldn't you? Well, I hope you like the layout above because I made it into a QP for you all. (Minus my journaling and the small cluster in the upper right corner) If you would like to grab it for yourself then do so by clicking HERE now.

I also have another layout to share with you all as well.

I created this layout after a visit to Tehachapi, Ca right after a snow storm. We took Wyatt up to play in the snow and we all had a great time. It was actually so warm that Brad and I had our jackets off most of the time. It was fun!!

One more layout for you, I created this one with a new kit I bought at SBG (I mean you all know how much I <3 SBG right? ) by Studio Rosey Posey called "Discovery of my Muse". I just loved the kit! It's spectacular my friends.

Oh I have another surprise for you by the way............You can also get this layout in QP form if you would like to grab it HERE as well.

That's 2 freebie's folks, tell your friends and share the wealth! Feel free to leave me a comment as I love to here from you. Have a spectacular day!!!
